History of the Chilean Fox Terrier:
Also called the Chilean Terrier, it is a furry friend with a long history in Chile. Its origin dates back to the 19th century, when Spanish colonizers brought small, agile dogs to the country. These furry friends were crossed with local breeds, resulting in a medium-sized dog, very useful for hunting small animals and being a good companion.

The Chilean Fox Terrier became very popular among Chilean families, especially in rural areas, due to its intelligence, energy, and loyalty. Over time, this breed has maintained its cheerful personality and its ability to adapt to different places, making it an ideal companion both in the countryside and in the city.

Care needed for a Chilean Fox Terrier:
These furry friends are known for being very active and playful, so it would be ideal to take them on long daily walks, play fetch, or engage in other activities that stimulate their mind and hyperactivity.

Regarding their diet, as they are small furry friends, it is important to give them small pellets so they don't have problems eating, rich in protein, high quality, and with healthy fats. Also, regarding the daily portion, the ideal is to divide it into two meals to avoid digestive problems. And of course, like all furry friends, it is crucial that they always have fresh and clean water available.

The coat of these furry friends is short, making it easier to maintain. Brush it once a week to keep it clean, tangle-free, and reduce the amount of loose hair at home. Bathe it with a hypoallergenic shampoo or, if its coat is mostly white, a special one for this type of coat.
Check its ears regularly to prevent infections, and keep its nails trimmed to avoid major problems.

Another important aspect for these furry friends is interaction with other furry friends or with several people. They don't enjoy being alone for long periods, so ideally spend a lot of time playing, petting them, or simply being by their side so they feel accompanied.
They are also very intelligent, so if you teach them basic behavior training from a puppy and they get snacks, they will learn very quickly and won't forget.

Like any other furry friend, the Chilean Fox Terrier needs regular health check-ups and vaccinations. Follow the veterinarian's recommendations to prevent diseases and keep them healthy.
