In the case of dogs, the basic and mandatory vaccines are:

Parvovirus: protects against this viral and highly contagious disease, mainly affecting puppies.
Symptoms include: vomiting, bloody diarrhea. If not treated in time or vaccinated, it can be a fatal virus. -
Canine Distemper: a disease that affects the respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems.
Symptoms include: fever, nasal discharge, cough, seizures. - Canine Hepatitis: a viral disease that affects the liver and other organs. Symptoms include: fever, loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.

Rabies: a disease that affects the nervous system and is almost always fatal. Administering this vaccine is crucial both for the dog's care and for people, since if a rabid dog bites a human, they will have severe symptoms.
There are two vaccines that help with more unusual diseases, considered as "optional" vaccines:
5. Bordetella: Bordetella bronchiseptica, is a bacterium that causes kennel cough, a highly contagious respiratory disease very common in crowded places like kennels and dog parks.
6. Leptospirosis: a bacterial disease that affects the kidneys and liver. It is transmitted in areas with stagnant water or rodents.
And for cats, which vaccines are necessary?

Feline Panleukopenia: a viral disease known as feline distemper, highly contagious, affecting the gastrointestinal system and can even be fatal. It especially affects kittens under one year of age.
Symptoms: leukopenia, diarrhea, fever, dehydration, depression, and high mortality.

Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Calicivirus: feline rhinotracheitis is a disease caused by feline herpesvirus, also called FHV-1, which is responsible for most cases of feline flu. It belongs to the same family as feline calicivirus, and like it, is characterized by the existence of various mutating strains. Feline calicivirus is a fairly common respiratory disease in cats. Although symptoms can be confused with those of a common cold, it is necessary to observe them carefully as it can be serious if not treated in time.
Symptoms: tearing, abundant nasal mucus, coughing, sneezing, fever, mouth ulcers.

Feline Rabies: a viral disease that affects the nervous system and is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. The vaccine is mandatory and important for both the kitten and for people in case it scratches or bites someone.
Symptoms: abnormal meows, irritability, excessive salivation, fever, vomiting, weight and appetite loss, aversion to water, seizures, paralysis.
There is one vaccine that is considered "optional" because it mainly affects cats that are not indoor: -
Feline Leukemia: protects against the feline leukemia virus, which can cause a variety of serious health problems in kittens, including anemia, cancer, and immunological diseases. It is important to administer this vaccine especially to cats that go out of the house during the day, as the virus is mainly transmitted through close contact with other infected cats.
Symptoms: anemia, skin infections, swollen lymph nodes, fever, weight loss
