A single Bravecto® chewable tablet starts killing fleas, ticks, and mites 2 hours after ingestion and provides up to 12 full weeks of continuous protection. In addition, the active ingredient in Bravecto® is a completely new compound, so there is no known resistance of ticks, fleas, and mites to it, which makes the protection much more effective. Fleas and ticks must attach to the host and begin feeding in order to be exposed to the active ingredient. The product demonstrates immediate efficacy against fleas within 8 hours of the flea attaching to the host and 12 hours in the case of ticks. The product effectively controls the flea population in the environment where the dogs are located. It can be used as part of the treatment for flea allergy dermatitis (FAD). The route of administration is oral and can be given at or near feeding time. Bravecto is a chewable tablet highly accepted by dogs. If the dog does not voluntarily ingest the tablet, it can be administered with food or directly into the mouth. Observe the dog during administration to ensure it has ingested the tablet. Chewable tablets should not be broken or divided. For optimal control of fleas and ticks, the product should be administered at 12-week intervals. Bravecto can be administered year-round. Due to the rapid onset of action of the product, the risk of disease transmission by parasites is significantly reduced.
